Craft Fun - A Pteranodon 1. Paint the cone cup and the bottom of the paper plate any colors that you wish and set them aside to dry. 2. To make eyes, put the circle stickers on the cone cup so the point of the cone cup represents the nose. Curl the small strip of paper by wrapping it around a pen or pencil. Put glue on one end of the paper strip and glue it inside the top of the cone cup, between the eyes. 3. Fold the paper plate in half with the painted side out. Cut a 1" slit on one end of the fold and fold back the two sides of the slit, as shown in the sketch. 4. Staple the curved edges of the paper plate together. Put glue on one end of the craft stick and slip it between the two curved edges of the paper plate. 5. To make wings, trace around your feet on the large piece of paper and cut them out. Fold back the heels of your cutout feet about 1/2" to make a glue tab. Gleu the wings near the folded edge of the aper plate, on on each side. Glue a feather on each wing. 6. Put flue on the two folded sides of the slit on the paper plate. Place the top, back side of the cone cup head on the glued paper plate tabs, as shown in the sketch. Simplified Version: Cut a paper triangle shape for the children to attach for a head. Eliminate the small paper strip and the cone cup. |
