Two 1 & 1/2" x 12" green construction paper strips for the headband
Scraps of colored construction paper for the stars and diamonds
A coffee filter
A stapler
Glue
Scissors
Crayons or markers
Trace and cut out the parts.
Staple one end of one strip to one end of the remaining strip to make one long strip.
Fold the coffee filter in half and lay the center of the long headband strip between the
folded halves of the coffee filter. The headband strip should lay along the fold
line.
Glue the halves of the coffee filter together with the headband inside.
Decorate the coffee filter crown and headband by gluing the stars and diamond shapes on
it.
Staple the two remaining ends of the headband strip together to fit the child's head.
SIMPLIFIED VERSION: Eliminate the coffee filter and just decorate the headband strip.
