May, Series I - Parent Letter
Happy May Day!!l We are looking forward to some fun in the sun as we work and play throughout the month of May. Because May is traditionally the end of the school year, we'll be winding up our academic program far this year. We'll be spending some time reviewing some of the concepts that we have learned during the year, and we'll also be reviewing colors, shapes, and numbers.
Our teaching units for this month will include "Those Buzzing Bees," in which
we will be talking about those neat little creatures who buzz around our gardens and
yards: "Pineapple Days," in which we will do some activities centered around
Hawaii and some of the interesting fruits and trees that grow in Hawaii; and "Clocks,
Money, and Measuring," in which we will be doing some fun activities that incorporate
counting money and telling time. If you have information, pictures, or other materials
that
might be of interest to us as we work through these units, we'd love to have you share
them with us.
Special days that we'll be observing this month will include May Day,Yellow Day, and Mother's Day. Our letters of the month will be X, Y, and Z. Our number of the month will be 10.
We'll be sharing the songs, crafts, creative art activities, and other activities with you through papers that your child brings home, and we hope that you will find them helpful as a way in which you can have some involvement in the things that we do.
| SPECIAL MATERIALS WE'LL NEED THIS MONTH: A 6 oz. frozen juice can by the end of the first week. |
