| The Story Of Buzzy Bee One sunny day, Buzzy Bee (add A)* was having a grand time flying around the neighborhood. Buzzy flew high and low and fast and slow. At the far end of the street, Buzzy saw Billy and Cindy Brown walking into their house. (Put B and C in D)** Now Buzzy was a very friendly bee, and she was always looking for more friends. Buzzy decided to follow the children and off she went, buzzing down the street and right through the front door of Billy and Cindy's house. (Put A in D) No one in the family noticed that a bee had flown into their house. (Remove all pictures.) They just went on about their business, making puzzles, reading books, and just doing the sorts of things that they liked to do. When the family sat down to dinner, Buzzy came to the table too. (Add E; Put A on E)** She wanted to see what they were eating. Buzzy was a very curious little bee and dinner smelled good. All of a sudden Mr. Brown jumped up from his chair and said, (Remove E; Add F) "A bee! A bee! There's a bee in this house!" Then Mrs. Brown and Cindy jumped up, and began to wave their hands. (Add G & H) Billy hid under the table. (Add I) Buzzy was so startled that she had frightened the people by just sitting at their table, that she quickly flew away. (Remove all pictures except A) She raced from the kitchen into the living room, and back and forth through the house with the entire family chasing her. At last Buzzy landed on a high window ledge, and she rested for a minute. (Put A on J) Soon the Brown family went back to the table to finish their dinner. (Add E) Buzzy was a smart little bee, and she thought and thought about how to get out of the house. "I know," she thought. "I'll fly through the window." Off Buzzy flew. But Buzzy didn't know that there was a screen over the open window, and she couldn't get out. Buzzy felt sad and tired, and she decided to take a nap for a while.(Remove A; add K) Maybe then she would be able to figure out what to do. While Buzzy napped, the children found her. (Remove E; add B & C) They walked slowly and quietly over to the window and pulled it shut in such a way that Buzzy the Bee woke up, but wasn't too scared. (Remove K; Put A on J and L on A & J) But now she was in a worse fix than before. She was stuck between the window and the screen. Buzzy could see the children talking to each other, but she couldn't hear what they were saying. And before she could lift a wing, they had disappeared. (Remove B & C) And then, suddenly they were outside of the house looking in the window. (Add B & C) As Buzzy watched, the children reached up, and opened the screen. (Remove J) Buzzy quickly flew out. The children waved as Buzzy Bee flew off down the street. Buzzy was so happy to be safe again that she did a somersault in the air as her way of saying thanks. |
